Today, State Senator and Assistant Minority Leader Nickie J. Antonio endorsed nonprofit and business executive Justin Bibb for Mayor.
“I’m supporting Justin because he reaches out, listens and has committed to being a true ally for equality and the continued fight for social justice for all people. He has built trust with marginalized communities including those who are LGBTQ+ and I believe he will be a faithful ally in City Hall. I look forward to working with him to help advance equality here and across the state,” said Antonio.
Justin proudly accepted Senator Antonio’s endorsement saying he’ll join her in the fight for equality and inclusion at all levels.
“Senator Antonio is a courageous fighter in our state legislature and widely respected for her strong leadership and activism. Her dedication, resilience and authenticity are qualities I admire greatly in a leader,” said Bibb.
“Together, we can partner to make Cleveland an inclusive and welcoming city where everyone can be themselves and thrive. It’s going to take structural and cultural change inside City Hall and at the state level and a mayor who is willing to take on the fight. That’s the kind of mayor I will be,” Bibb added.
